Twin Cities's finest, In Defence, recently played a set at the Eau Claire Taco Johns. The cops shut down the house show they were playing so these fuckers moved south of the border and brought the ruckus, as they are apt to do. This may be the best video on the internet, so give it an eyeball or two.

Ruiner

Ruiner, out of Baltimore, MD have been around since 2004. This year saw the release of their first full length, "Prepare To Be Let Down", on Bridge9 records. This band fucking rages and they owned minneapolis last weekend at the NELC. Don't pass a chance to see these guys live. They remind me of a cross between Modern Life Is War and American Nightmare, and surprisingly thats not a bad thing. The songs are almost all played at breakneck speeds but mid tempos and slow builds(MLIW) keep things interesting. Lyrics are pissed and emotional without being whiny and Rob Sullivan has a unique delivery. They're going out on tour again after christmas and hitting almost everywhere except Minnesota so don't pass on them if they come through town.
